Fear and Respect

“Fear is the quintessential human emotion. Some people live lives devoid of joy, happiness, and pleasure, but no one escapes the experience of fear and fear’s companion, pain. We are born in fear and pain. Our lives are profoundly shaped by them, as well as our efforts to avoid them.” Fear, experienced by every being of the human species, is an utterly unavoidable emotion. The extent and range of fears varies from person to person, but the emotion is the same. One person’s reaction of seeing a snake will be similar to another person’s reaction of walking into a train station. The body is programmed to react in a distinct fashion once the stimulus is recognized. Terror is the main cause that makes body to tremble with fear. The skin becomes pale, sweat breaks out, and the hair bristles. The secretions of the alimentary canal and of the kidneys are increased, and they are involuntarily voided… The breathing is hurried. The heart beats quickly, wildly, and violently; but whether it pumps the blood more efficiently through the body may be doubted, for the surface seems bloodless and the strength of the muscles soon fails… The mental faculties are much disturbed. Hence, Fear is the one thing that every people don’t like to experience in their life. And Respect is a positive feeling of esteem or deference for a person or other entity (such as a nation or a religion), and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. In our life we always have fear of something that maybe while doing work, going far away from home, giving the examination. All people have an instinctual response to potential danger, which is in fact important to the survival of all species. The reactions elicited from fear are seen through advantages in evolution. Fear can be a manipulating and controlling factor in an individual's life. Respect is both given and received. We expect other people to respect us in return for the respect we show them. Respect is something that is earned by the standards of the particular society in which one lives. Respect cannot be measured as a quantity, cannot be bought or traded, it is one of those things that is earned and built over time, but that can be lost with one stupid or inconsiderate act. . One can never ask or beg for respect, but only others can bestow us with respect as a result of their perceived treatment by us. Respect cannot always be seen or observed by actions, but for those who practice chivalry.
Hence, respect is something that people carry with them; also it can never be bought or sold. People should always try to respect other who contributes for the best of the society. Therefore people should always try t0o overcome their fear and walk confidently in each and every situations of life. As we know that there is fear everywhere but also there are measures to overcome the fear and respect is also what exists in the life. So, people should try to have a respectful life by contributing for a society and try to minimize the fearful life.

Arrogance and confidence

The confidence is defined as freedom of doubt; belief in yourself and your abilities. Self-esteem is a confidence and satisfaction in oneself. Also confidence is generally described as a state of being certain that a hypothesis or a prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective.  And Arrogance is described as doing something with an ignorance and unwanted attitude. Its definition also follows in this manner as a having or showing off unwanted importance out of overbearing pride, making or having the disposition to make, exorbitant claims of rank or estimation.
Confidence and Arrogance sounds similar when we talk but thinking logically and undergoing the real concepts, we find vast difference between these two terms. So the confidence means to do anything in proper manner without giving up and taking sides and correction from other if we are in wrong position. A confident person always has a sense of learning and sharing the ideas to other. But Arrogance means to do work wit5h the attitude and having the feeling of right in any situations. An arrogant person always thinks that he/she is always correct, he/she is better than anyone else.
When it comes to the comparison between the confident person and arrogant person we can mark many differences. Confident person has always faith on the work he does and thinks that he may be right or sometime wrong too, but an arrogant person always skips some of the part of the work and feels that he/she is always correct and there is no need to correct in his work as arrogant person then self is god of him/her and tries to overcome their weakness with some pretends. Similarly, Confident and arrogant person can also be differentiated with the body gesture and language they use while having the conversation. Confident person always walk their head held up and have good attitude and respect other whereas arrogant people are always in their own world and have bad attitude to others and have habit of demotivating others.
Hence, it is sure that Confident people are talent and successful with self-respect whereas Arrogant people are also successful sometimes but are filled with problems in their life such as social problems, attitude problems. There is no doubt that the confident people are more successful than arrogant people as confident people are also in the concern to learn from other but arrogant are always limited with in their boundary of attitude and ignorance.

Roles I play Each DAy

My day starts with the cup of tea at 6 am  from my bed. Therefore, from the morning to night I play different roles in different places in different situations. Some of the days I had to play more number of roles but most of the days my day finishes with three roles of mine, which are:
1. Student
2. Friend
3. Son
The first role I had to plat daily except to the holidays is as a student. From the time I enter the college premises I get into the role of the student. I play this role to my lectures, tutors, coordinators, accounting managers, etc. at college. My behavior towards them is normally polite, gentle and silent. And their reaction to my behavior is also simple and common as they react to other students at the college. The thing that I try to achieve in this role is good response from teachers, a better educational skills advice and answers to my curiosity of the subject matter. Normally, I am at the classroom when I play this role and within the college premises.
The second role that I play with in the college and after college is a role of a friend. I play this role to my classmates, friends within my neighborhood, friends from my school days. Behavior of mine to them is always kind of naughty and funny guy and their reaction is same which is supporting my stupid acts and enjoying my jokes. Not totally but of course my friends also behave as I expect them to and the things that I try to achieve in this role are the attention of my friends and some excitement which may include sports too. I always enjoy this part of my day and I play this role within the college and also outside the college where we friends meet to share gossips.
Finally, the most important role I play each day is as a son. I play this role to my mom, dad and to society too. And my behavior is always like shouting and demanding money from my parents by quarreling. Sometimes, my behavior alters with the alternation of the situations at home. Sometime I am quite and disciplined but sometimes I am aggressive as if I am in war with my parents. Their reaction is also based on my activities: Advising on my goals, scolding in my mistakes and making me proud when I achieve my goals. Not all the times but they usually react as I expect from them. In this role I am always focusing on fulfilling my demands by asking for money and being a good son to my parents. Home is the venue for me to play this role. And among all of the roles that I play, I find  role of son bit easier and comfortable.

Task 1

Below are two of the abilities I should acquire during the course as a computing student.

1.       Use available tools to construct and document computer application.

As in the sentence above I should be able to utilize the available tools and materials such as the learning objects, lecture slides that I am provide by my lecturers. It also marks to those ideas and techniques that I gain through the classes and lecturers as a whole. And utilizing these skills and knowledge I should be capable to construct a computer application within the last of this semester. For me it’s like the process of give and take as I take knowledge and skills from the classes and give a good program and application as a output that can meet the demand and necessity of the user these days. Also I must be able to take more ideas and views from my classmates so that I can implement them on my documents and applications.

2.       Manage own learning and personal development including using time management and organizational skills, with a focus on lifelong learning and personal development.

This is the most important skill that I want to develop through this semester. As own learning is the most applicable thing to organize the knowledge and skills because self-learning provides much confidence and skills helpful to became a good programmer and software developer. Own learning includes the areas like searching the learning materials by self, completion of coursework with no help of friends, finding out the errors by self, which leads to much more understanding to the topic then other ways. The best and most appriciatable part of self-learning is independent to others. Also indeed I should try to learn the methods for my personal development with better confidence and skills. And these are the things that I am looking forward to maintain in me as being a computing student.

Personal Statement

It’s no doubt that technology has gained the most popularity and made a big space in the context of development in the world and computer technology has develop a lot and swiftly reached the top rank then other fields .So, I thought of moving ahead with the computer technology as my field and making a good name and money out of it. Studying IT has been a great achievement and I feel very lucky to study here in the Islington College with the affiliation of LONDON METROPOLITIAN UNIVERSITY.
Reflecting the academic  development, The four modules that I had undertaken in the first semester were, “Problem Solving for IT”, “Introduction To Programming”, “Logics” and finally “Study Skills For Computing”.
The module LOGICS deals with the basic concepts of the mathematics laws and properties that are useful for developing the sound knowledge of mathematics used in IT fields. Moreover, it had been a familiar module for me as since my childhood I have been studying mathematics.
INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING covered the important topics in java which helped me a lot in developing the basic concept. And I gained the confidence to access the quality of software with the knowledge for using programming language.
STUDY SKILLS FOR COMPUTING polishes the skills important to support the study level. This topic was quite new for me. As it deals with reflective learning and action planning. I think this module has been very helpful for me to build up confidence as it developed my skills of doing the projects.
PROBLEM SOLVING FOR IT deals with the strategy of solving logical questions systematically. It develops our skills to understand the crucial problems and solve it in better manner with more applicable logic. Also it introduced to the packages for solving the problems to the applicability to range of fields.
I gained the basic knowledge of different topics in this past 13 weeks. Although my knowledge over these modules are basic labeled and fundamental, I can at least build a small java programs, and solve the problems in systematic manner then before. Also I am capable of writing small reports and blogs and can solve basic mathematical problems. I fell that I have updated my knowledge and skills then before.
During this semester I got lots of feedback from my lectures, mostly in programming. The programming was harder for me. So, I was encouraged to practice more and try out new ideas in the programming. My lecturer always advised me to use simple programming language and skip the unwanted loops.
Also, I got feedback on study skills for computing. My skills of writing were not so good so my lecturer advised me to use better words and lines to maintain the grammatical order. And also I should improve my vocabulary to maintain the flow of writing within the topic.
As I was good at mathematics so I didn’t got many feedbacks on the LOGICS. But also lecturer used to encourage practicing more and solving all the tutorial problems.
PROBLEM SOLVING FOR IT was really new topic for me. Lecturer used to advise me to solve different logical questions and try to use different tricks while solving. Besides these I was encouraged to do more self-research and not to relay totally on lecturer.
Through the feedbacks, I came to realize that I was a bit poor in programming and make many mistakes while using programming language. And my writings were not so good to gain good grades so I thought of improving my vocabulary as well. I took the feedbacks for me as backbone to improve my grades. Hence, I found myself poor at studies and lacking practice to become a good IT student.
My action plan for further academic development- I will practice mathematical problems a lot so that I can implement them in programs. I will research about the topics myself from the second semester rather than relying more on lecturer. Also, I am looking forward to build small java programs so that it will be helpful for me to understand java more. I will leave the habit of doing the assignment at the last hour and complete everything on time so that I can review my work properly. I am planning of taking more ideas from lecturer besides the classes. Now I will make the routine of writing at least two blogs in a week so that I can improve my writing. My next step will be attending the classes regularly so that I can understand the topic properly. Last but not the least; I will be doing combine studies with my friends so that I can get some fresh ideas.
I know it’s hard to study IT but I will try my best to see myself as a good IT Professional.
